Lejeune Canine Section Receives Donation

Christmas arrived late for a group of four-legged "Marines" stationed at Camp Lejeune. The Moore County Kennel Club recently presented the base's military police canine section with a variety of dog products: chews, heavy duty automatic leashes, nail clippers, towels and training jackets with replacement sleeves. "I hope these donations inspire other individuals and organizations to also make similar contributions to this valuable program," said Maryann Phillips, military police work dogs representative of the MCKC. Phillips reported that this marks the third time her organization has made donations to the Camp Lejeune section. The MCKC also makes similar donations to U.S. Army canine units stationed at Ft. Bragg. On hand to accept the donations was Col. David Leppelmeier, H&HS Battalion commanding officer. read more
